Walk around town and cycling tour, including a short trekking through Bosco Fontana’s natural reserve.
THE PRINCE’S PATH (walking tour)
Meeting point at Palazzo Te and tour of the summer residence of the Gonzaga family (Giulio Romano’s masterpiece). Visitors will then be taken through the Prince’s Path, a suggestive walking tour towards the Ducal Palace, exploring Mantua’s ancient squares and palaces, as well as the alleys of the old town centre, including a visit to the Church of S. Andrea and the Rotunda of S. Lorenzo.

BOSCO FONTANA’S NATURAL RESERVE (cycling tour)
A bicycle route departs from the town centre and runs along the lakes up to the Rocca of Sparafucile, offering amazing views of the city. After a brief explanatory break, the tour will continue towards Gambarara, starting point of the cycling route connecting Mantua with Peschiera, running through fields and country houses and leading towards the natural reserve of Bosco Fontana. The cycling trip will be interrupted briefly to allow for a short and suggestive trek to the Gonzaga’s Hunting Palace, surrounded by the woods’ natural framework. After a short break where visitors will be explained the history and the features of the place, they will return to Mantua by the same cycling route.
Details: Approximately 20 km in total on paved cycling route - suggested period of the year: spring or autumn.
